SPRINGFIELD, Mo. - A Springfield woman is dead after she was struck by a car. The crash happened Saturday night just before 9 at the intersection of Kearney and Robberson. According to Springfield police, 20-year-old Meshele LaSalle was crossing Kearney when a car hit her. LaSalle was transported to a Springfield hospital where she later died. The driver that struck LaSalle did stop and was questioned by police. So far no charges have been filed in the case.

A Springfield man is behind bars tonight charged with robbing the Great Southern Bank. Twenty one year old Kwanell Allen was charged in federal court Tuesday for allegedly stealing more than 20-thousand dollars in cash from the bank on east kearney last saturday. Cameras inside the bank captured surveillance photos during the robbery. A tip was called into the police department the next day, identifying Allen. Shortly after that, police arrested him.

A developing story in north Springfield tonight, where police are searching for two people who ran from a stolen car. Officers tell KSPR they pulled over a truck near Kearney and Grant, but the driver drove off. Police say they followed the truck briefly but the chase was called off because it was deemed too dangerous. The search continued when officers found the stolen vehicle on west Chase street near Grant.  Authorities say two people inside the car took off on foot and are still on the run.

A Springfield man is dead following a Sunday morning crash at Kearney and Broadway. Police say the victim is 59-years-old, but his name has not been released pending notification of family. Three others were taken to the hospital, but are expected to be ok. The westbound lanes of Kearney were shut down for more than six hours as crews investigated and cleared the crash scene.

A Walgreens near a Springfield, Missouri elementary school wil get a liquor license. Springfield City Council spent much of Monday night's meeting on the issue before finally passing the measure, 6 - 3. Passage means the Walgreens at Kearney and National will join the other 8 in Springfield that now sell alcohol. The store is located near Robberson Elementary.

Police in Springfield are investigating a shooting on the Northeast part of town. Officers responded to the reported shooting Sunday around midnight on east Kearney near a convenience store. When they arrived, no one was there, but a man later showed up at Mercy Hospital with a gunshot wound. His injuries are not life threatening.

Police this morning are still searching for a man they say robbed a North Springfield motel Saturday night. Investigators say a man walked into America's Best Value Inn at Kearney and Glenstone streets, flashed a gun and demanded cash. He's described as a white man, in his 40s or 50s. Witnesses say he's about six feet tall, and was wearing a blue sweatshirt. If you have any information about this robbery, call police at 869-TIPS.

A Springfield Police officer tried to pull over a man near Kearney and West Bypass Friday morning. The man originally stopped then backed up and took off, almost hitting the police cruiser. The suspect stopped again about 200 feet away and was taken into custody. Police say he is a parole violator and there was evidence of meth in the vehicle. The man is being held in jail, his name will be released when charges are filed.

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. - Firefighters spent a large portion of Monday morning fighting a fire that damaged a north Springfield business. Crews were called out to Crickett's Novelties in the 200 block of West Kearney Street, just east of Campbell Avenue, at roughly 2:30 a.m. Firefighters worked for hours to put out the blaze due to a large amount of plywood on the property. The owners of the business had no comment regarding the fire, and fire officials on scene weren't immediately available to comment on further details.

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. - Two men are in the hospital after police say they were pinned between two cars. It happened Tuesday night around 9 on Kearney and Park in north Springfield. Investigators say the men were pushing a broken-down vehicle. They say the driver of another car didn't see them and rear-ended the car, pinning the victims between both cars. The men were taken to a Springfield hospital with serious injuries and are expected to recover.

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. - Springfield police are looking for two men who attacked and robbed a man early Wednesday morning on the city's north side. It happened around 1:30 a.m. in the 2500 block of N. Howard Street, near Kearney and National. Police tell us the man was walking there when two people attacked him from behind. The victim was hit in the head with what he says was a beer bottle. He told police he was beat up and cut on his face. The suspects stole several things from the man including an iPod before they fled on foot.

A Springfield business is under investigation after police say they seized several packets of K-2 and and other items believed to be drug paraphernalia. Police say the items were seized from Doobie's, a retail store in the 1400 block of east Kearney. According to the store's Facebook page, Doobie's offers legal herbal incense. So far, no charges have been filed.
