The legend of Springfield (MO) Hillcrest wide receiver Dorial Green-Beckham continues to grow.  The 6-6, 225 pound phenom has done nearly everything a high school athlete could imagine. His career literally began with an 80 yard touchdown catch on the first varsity snap of his freshman season. By the end of his Sophomore season, DGB had earned a class 5 state basketball championship, a pair of track state golds, and became the first ever underclassmen selected as MaxPreps National Athlete of the Year.

Hillcrest junior Dorial Green-Beckham carried his Hornets to a 50-36 class 4 sectional win over Cassville Wednesday night at Missouri Southern in Joplin. Green-Beckham scored 25 points as the defending class 5 state champs overcame an early deficit. Hillcrest (23-4) advances to face St. Francis Borgia (19-8) in Saturday's 1:00 pm quarterfinal at Missouri S&T in Rolla.

SPRINGFIELD, MO - Hillcrest (MO) super recruit Dorial Green-Beckham has reportedly narrowed his college choice to 4 schools according to multiple sources at the high school.  Arkansas, Oklahoma, Missouri, and Texas are still in the hunt.  Hillcrest head coach and father of Dorial, John Beckham told KSPR the decision was unofficial at this time. According to the sources, the family informed Alabama of their decision on Tuesday, the day after the Crimson Tide won the BCS National Championship.

The wait is over. Hillcrest High School standout and number one high school football recruit in the nation, Dorial Green-Beckham, will play his college ball at the University of Missouri. DGB finally let the world know his decision Wednesday morning after months of speculation. Dorial had long said that he wanted to stay close to home, and as signing day grew closer, it appeared evident that DGB would either choose the University of Arkansas or Mizzou. In his four years at Hillcrest, Green-Beckham racked up 6,356 receiving yards, a national record.

Columbia, MO - Mizzou football held their annual Fan Day on Sunday.  It was the media's first chance to talk to Dorial Green Beckham. Springfield, MO - Hillcrest senior Dorial Green-Beckham is once again in the national spotlight.  The 6-6 220 pound All-American receiver will be featured in this weeks Sports Illustrated in the "Faces in the Crowd" section. The clip reads: “Dorial, a 6' 6", 225-pound wide receiver at Hillcrest High, set a state record with 354 receiving yards on 13 catches in a 40 - 19 victory over Rolla High. He scored on receptions of 56, 68 and 75 yards to help the Hornets clinch a share of the Ozark Conference crown.

Don't ask Dorial Green-Beckham where he's going to college.  He doesn't know.  The Hillcrest Hornets super recruit says he will narrow his search in the next couple weeks then make a decision some time midseason.  Until then, DGB's focus is on the field and with his Hornet teammates. Media from around the country swarms Green-Beckham and his adopted father/head coach John Beckham each and every day. John has made a conserted effort to limit access to his son, but says more often that not media outlets publish stories without him even knowing.

SPRINGFIELD, MO - With less than a week until national signing day Hillcrest super recruit Dorial Green-Beckham became the brunt of a friendly prank by his Hornet teammates.  Dorial's little brother Darnell (sophomore) came up from behind big bro during an interview with KSPR to deliver the classic "pie in the face". DGB took the prank well, saying "I got punked!  But it's all good, I like it.  It tastes good. " Before the pie incident Green-Beckham talked about hitting the home stretch of the recruiting process.  He will visit Mizzou this weekend before hopefully making a decision Sunday.

Springfield (MO) Hillcrest junior phenom Dorial Green-Beckham has added yet another honor to his resume'.  MaxPreps/CBS Sports football recruiting expert Tom Lemming has named Green-Beckham his top football recruit for the class of 2012. The 6-6, 220 pound 3-sport star was the 2009-10 MaxPreps National Athlete of the Year .  As a sophomore he became the first underclassmen to receive the honor. Green-Beckham is already Missouri's all-time leader in receiving yards and touchdowns with a full season to go. In addition to leading Hillcrest to its first ever playoff football win, DGB has helped the Hornets to a 2010 class 5 basketball championship, and owns individual state titles in track for the 100 meter and triple jump.

COLUMBIA, Mo. -- Mizzou freshman wide receiver Dorial Green-Beckham faces a one game suspension after he was arrested on suspicion of marijuana possession in Columbia on Wednesday night, along with two teammates. Green-Beckham and freshman teammates Torey Boozer and Levi Copelin were arrested on suspicion of possessing 35 grams or less of marijauna. The three were released shortly after their arrests. "We're aware opf the incident and have addressed it," said University of Missouri sports information director Chad Moeller.  "All individuals involved have been immediately suspended from the program for one game.  All other disciplinary measures will be handled internally, and there will be no further comment.

SPRINGFIELD, MO - Hillcrest senior tight end Jonah Hill has verbally committed to play football for Arkansas State . "I couldn't tell you how it made me feel to go up there (Jonesboro)," said Hill.  "I couldn't be more happy and feel more at home.  With my versatility they're allowing me to play the h-back, fullback position.  Coach Malzahn can make me the best player I can be. " "He fits right into (Gus) Malzahn's system," said Beckham.  "He's more of an h-back, fullback type.

KSPR Boys Basketball Power Rankings - Final Edition Throughout the 2011-12 high school basketball season we at the KSPR Sports Department have ranked Southwest Missouri teams based on what we believe to be their strength by class.  From the initial games to the final shot at the Show-Me Showdown a lot has changed. This "Final Edition" of the Power Rankings is based on how teams finished the season with less baring on their overall record. We thank you for your interest and support.  We wish all the players, coaches and fans well as they continue their careers in either high school or college.  The Power Rankings are an inexact science intended as a fun way to highlight area teams.

COLUMBIA, MO - The Hillcrest boys' quest for a 2nd state title in 3 years fell short Saturday at Mizzou Arena.  Soldan International Studies (24-5) of St. Louis held off the Hornets (25-7) 55-42 in the class 4 title game. The Bears ran out to a 9-0 early lead.  Hillcrest scored only 2 1st quarter points, trailing 14-2 after 8 minutes and 35-18 at the half. "We couldn't get shots to fall," said junior Austin Petry.  "We were phased by their pressure and we really never came up against pressure like that.
