Just how educated are we when it comes to knowing where to go in the event of a tornado?  Let's find out. We went to downtown Springfield to ask people where they would go if a tornado was headed for them, like if they were watching a game at Hammons Field. Underneath the bleachers? Not quite.  You want to make your way to the restrooms located above the ballfield. How about if you were watching a concert at JQH Arena? Under the stage? Probably not the best idea.  Instead, make your way to the restrooms and take shelter in there.

We will be at the Battlefield Mall on Saturday from noon to 4pm for the Severe Weather Expo.  Come out and meet us.  We will play some weather Jeopardy and have some prizes to give away.  The light snow will finally end later tonight and not be a problem for Saturday.  The roads are a little slick even though there isn't much to this snow.  It will be another cold night.  Lows will be in the lower 20's with wind chills in the upper teens. The clouds will start to break up a bit on Saturday.  The farther west you go the more sun you will see but more clouds will linger for our eastern counties.  Despite the sun, it will still be another cold day.  Northerly winds will keep highs only in the mid to upper 30's.  The winds will shift to the south on Sunday.  Add in the sunshine and it will be a near normal day with highs in the upper 40's to lower 50's for our western counties.

A ten-month vacation is apparently long enough for Santa Clause. He made his return to Springfield today at the Battlefield Mall. We asked Santa why he was here some three weeks before Black-Friday. "I try to get here early every year, so I can see all these children in the surrounding area. Why, if I didn't get here early there'd be so many kids lined up from here to Kearny Street come Christmas, so I try to see them all,” said Santa. Santa will be at the Mall, Bass Pro, The Branson Landing and other retail outlets throughout the Ozarks for the next seven weeks.
