Boil water advisory in effect for Ozark

June 08, 2013|By Melody Pettit | mpettit@kspr.com

(OZARK, Mo) — A problem with the water system has prompted a boil water advisory for the City of Ozark. The City says the advisory affects residents who live west of S. 17th St. to Hwy 65, and south of W. South St/Business 65.

According to the city’s website, the boil advisory is recommended for infants and those with compromised immune systems.

Those in the area affected should boil water vigorously for three minutes prior to use for drinking or cooking. Dispose of ice cubes and remake with water that has been boiled. Continue boiling all water that is to be used for cooking or drinking until the cause of the contamination has been found and corrected. Water used for bathing does not need to be boiled. LET WATER COOL SUFFICIENTLY BEFORE DRINKING.

Samples of the water will be taken and the advisory will be rescinded pending results. Water maybe slightly turbulent as the water system regains pressure.
