SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- City police are investigating two home invasions in which at least one person was reportedly assaulted.

Police say they received a robbery call in the 600 block of South Wabash Avenue.  A woman there told them three men with handguns forced themselves into the home and demanded money from her son, who wasn't there at the time.

The woman told police that the men ransacked her home looking for money and left with a few items. Police say the woman had minor injuries from what appeared to be an assault, but was not taken to the hospital.

Police were later called to another home invasion in the 1200 block of South Crutcher Avenue.  A 27-year-old woman there told police that she heard a loud crashing in her home, saw three men and heard them say "police" as well as ask about money.

That woman told police the men forced her onto the bathroom floor and took some of her belongings before leaving.

No one has been taken into custody.  As of Friday morning, it was unclear whether the two home invasions are connected.
