Artist died after house fire in Springfield

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- An artist died in a house fire on Sunday morning.  Firefighters found the body of Paul Dorrough inside the room where the fire started.  Dorrough was in his 60s.

The fire was at 1401 S. Fremont Ave.  City officials say the flames were contained to one room in the multiple-level house.

Fire Marshal William Spence sayd the fire is under investigation.  No working smoke detectors were found in the home.  The medical examiner's staff took the body for an autopsy.
