Meteorologist Lindsey Slater joined the KSPR Weather Team in June of 2012.
Lindsey came to KSPR33 from the FOX station in Jackson, Mississippi where she was the morning meteorologist. Lindsey began her weather career in 2006, interning at WISN in Milwaukee. She also worked with the WKOW Weather Team in Madison, Wisconsin where she polished her on-camera skills. While at WKOW Lindsey helped with on-air coverage during several severe weather events. Lindsey was also an intern at the National Weather Service in Wisconsin. "When I was at the National Weather Service, it was amazing to see what went into issuing watches and warnings.". During her time with the NWS, Lindsey became a certified storm spotter.
Lindsey graduated from Carroll College in Waukesha, Wisconsin earning a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science. She also has a Bachelor of Science in Broadcast Meteorology from Mississippi State University.
Lindsey has always been fascinated by the weather, in all its forms. Lindsey first became interested in weather while living at home in Milwaukee. While severe weather doesn't plague the Upper Midwest as often as it does in the south, when it did Lindsey hurriedly ran outside each time, taking pictures of storms with her camera.
When she's not tracking weather, Lindsey loves to go to the theater. Movies are her second passion: you name it, she's seen it! Lindsey also enjoys baking, reading, volunteering at local animal shelters, and spending time with her husband mark and their two cats Memphis and Maverick.
You can see Lindsey on KSPR News This Morning, weekdays from 5:00 a.m. - 7:00 a.m.
