ATHENS, OH - 2007 Willard High School graduate Travis Wilkins has officially signed at Ohio University.  Wilkins previously transferred to Southern Illinois from Snow College in Utah, but vacated his scholarship with the Salukis when head coach Chris Lowery was fired and Barry Hinson took over.

"We are excited to add Travis to the Ohio Men's Basketball family," Head Coach Jim Christian said. "I think it's important to add the right type of person to the culture we have in place here at Ohio. I am impressed with Travis' maturity and commitment to both athletics and academics. He is someone that will fit in well with our current blend of student-athletes."

The 6-3 guard will be a junior at Ohio.  He was a NJCAA D-I 3rd team All-America at Snow College.  His 17.2 points per game average ranked 3rd in the conference.

Wilkins' main strength comes in his ability to score and shoot.  Wilkins shot an impressive 48% from behind the arc last season.

"I'm very excited to be a Bobcat," Wilkins said. "To come play for a team with a rich tradition and is also coming off a Sweet 16 berth, it's a great opportunity."
