A Missouri woman will spend six months locked in her own house for aiding her son in a 150-thousand dollar tax-fraud scheme while he was in federal prison.

Sixty two year old Barbara Singletary of O'Fallon, Missouri was sentenced Friday after she pleaded guilty to conspiracy. Authorities say Singletary helped Michael Chaney file nearly 40 bogus state tax returns for inmates and others claiming more than 150-thousand dollars in refunds.

Chaney got four and a half years in prison in the scheme and, like his mother, must pay 90-thousand dollars in restitution.
