WILLARD, Mo — Officials are investigating what may have caused a hay bale fire in Willard very early Thursday morning.
Willard fire fighters were called to the 8300 block of West Farm Road 84 in at about 12:30 a.m. Thursday. They found about 10 hay bales burning, and the people who live on the property were helping put out the fire.
Eventually, about 20 round bales ended up being destroyed in the fire. Crews were able to save about 20 more bales.
Officials say they aren't sure how the blaze started, and don't know yet if the fire might be related to other hay bale or grass fires we've seen this summer.
