Halfway through the fiscal year Taney County is facing more budget concerns. During a mid year budget review session this afternoon (6-16) commissioners said tourism numbers are much lower than last year and if the trend continues tax revenue in the coming months will be down significantly.
Commissioners promised the mid-year review at the beginning of the year, when they approved a budget eliminating 28 employee positions.
The cuts were based on an expected $2-million revenue shortfall.
