SPRINGFIELD, Mo — A crash near downtown Springfield led police to a pickup truck that had been stolen from Christian County.
It happened early Thursday morning. An officer tried to pull over the truck because he thought the driver was driving drunk.
The driver didn't stop, and led police on a chase that ended when he ran a red light and hit an SUV at Jefferson and Grand.
The suspect fled from the truck, leaving a passenger behind. Police set up a perimeter and caught up to him.
Officers then discovered that that the truck had been reported stolen out of Christian County.
The person who was driving the SUV wasn't hurt. The driver of the truck and his passenger were taken to a hospital for observation.
Police say the driver of the truck will probably face charges for fleeing from an officer in Greene County, and theft charges may be filed in Christian County.
