Springfield, MO Citizen Tax Group Could Get More Responsibility

Springfield city council is looking at a plan to give a newly formed citizen tax oversight committee more responsibility.

An ordinance on the Council agenda tonight would add the recently extended 1/4 cent Capital Improvement Tax and the 1/8 cent Transportation Tax to the duties of the Citizen Sales Tax Oversight Committee.

The group was formed earlier this year to review and monitor the collection and use of Springfield's various sales taxes.
