SBU Sports Information - Justin Wollard BOLIVAR, Mo. -- The SBU Bearcats pulled away down the stretch to top the Emporia State Hornets 75-62. The win was the 37th straight at home for the Bearcats, the second longest streak in Division II. Tomas Brock led the Bearcats (13-2, 4-1 MIAA) with 18 points, one of four SBU players in double digits. Kurt Koenig had 17 points, Matt Rogers 14 and Ryan Dougherty had 12. Tristan Steele had 10 rebounds to lead the 'Cats. SBU led by one 33-32 at the half before outscoring the Hornets (6-7, 2-4 MIAA) 42-30 in the second frame. SBU made eight of 22 from three point range and shot 46% from the field. The Bearcats outrebounded the Hornets 41-30. SBU is right back in action on Tuesday night, when they host the Washburn Ichabods at 7:30 p.m. from the Meyer Sports Center.
